City First Homes Staff
Robert Burns is the President and CEO of City First Homes. He is an entrepreneurial leader with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, community development, and state and local affairs. Robert currently serves as President. Burns comes to City First Homes from IBTS, where he served as Director of Local Government Solutions working in post disaster housing recovery and regional government solutions. Prior to joining IBTS, Burns served as Director of Field Operations for NeighborWorks America in its Washington, DC headquarters where he supervised five regional offices across the country and provided resources, training and technical assistance to the NeighborWorks Network.
Robert also served in city management and previously worked in local government in Kansas, South Carolina and North Carolina. Robert is a 1988 Truman Scholar from North Carolina and remains active within the Truman Foundation and has participated in their leadership forums. He has served on the Board of Managers for the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, the Board of Directors for the North Area Cable Television Association in St. Louis, and the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Area Insurance Trust. He currently serves as Vice President for the Alexandria Housing Corporation Board of Directors as well Chairman of the Common Area Committee for his homeowners association. Additionally, Robert serves as Secretary of the Board for the National Community Land Trust network.
Robert received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Kansas and his Bachelors degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University.

Jim Steck is the Housing Director of City First Homes. Previously, Jim served as the Greater Washington representative for Wachovia Bank's Community Development Finance Group. Jim also served as lead manager with KPMG Consulting for several major federal government loan guarantee programs. Jim is a graduate of the University of Maryland. Stephen Seed is the Program and Outreach Manager of City First Homes. Stephen is the first point of contact for potential homebuyers and serves as an advocate and resource through the home buying process. Stephen cultivates relationships with homebuyers post-purchase through informational newsletters, periodic workshops and events, affinity services and financial counseling. Previously, Stephen served as the Senior Program Officer at the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development. Stephen is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. David Ogunsanya is the Stewardship and Portfolio Manger at City First Homes. Prior to working for City First Homes, David served as the Program Associate for the Northside Coalition for Fair Housing in Pittsburgh, PA. In this position, David successfully coordinated daily operations as a liaison between the Pittsburgh City Council, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Department of City Planning. In addition to management of the organization RFP process, David also facilitated fundraising initiatives for the Annual Women's Walk for Peace, promoting Domestic Violence Awareness. In previous roles, David has served as a project consultant leveraging geographic information systems (GIS) skills to support city planning and development. David has a Masters degree in Urban Development and Regional Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and a Bachelors of Business Administration from North Carolina Central University. Jamie Terry is Senior Accountant at City First Homes. Jamie is an MBA and CPA with over four years of public accounting experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Internal Audit practice, conducting financial audits of public and private companies and assisting organizations with financial compliance, specifically Sarbanes Oxley. She has extensive experience with clients in the Financial Services, Hospitality, and Real Estate industries. As the organization's accountant, Jamie conducts the day to day operations of the finance department and reports directly to the CFO. John Hamilton is the Board Chair of City First Homes. He is the President of City First Enterprises, and founder and Board Chair of City First Bank, a community development finance institution. Previously, he served as Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, and as Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. He was also an advisor to the governor and lieutenant governor. John was appointed by Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty to serve as co-chair of his workforce housing transition committee. Kevin Anderson is a Director of City First Homes. Kevin is currently the Senior Vice President of EverFi. Previously, Kevin served as the CEO of City First Homes. Kevin has also served as the CFO and VP for Equity Capital at the Jair Lynch Companies, a community development and residential firm in Washington, DC, and as Chief of Staff at the DC Department of Transportation, where he promoted a trust fund for street and infrastructure maintenance. Kevin is a graduate of Stanford University.
Jaime Bordenave is a Director of City First Homes. Jaime is the founder and President of The Communities Group, a family of companies specializing in services for housing, infrastructure, and urban development. The Group has clients in all 50 states, as well as overseas. It was among Inc. Magazine’s 500 Fastest-Growing Hispanic Companies from 1998 to 2005. Jaime has 34 years of experience in affordable homeownership and community development.

John Hamilton is the President of City First Enterprises. For two decades John has focused on entrepreneurial responses to public challenges. John is the founder and a director of City First Bank as well as president of City First Enterprises, and the Chairman of CFHomes. John also has extensive experience in state and local government and politics. He served as the head of two cabinet departments and as an advisor to the governor and lieutenant governor. John served as Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (with an annual budget of $6 billion and 10,000 employees) and as Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. In both capacities he oversaw numerous federal and state government programs involving many millions of dollars and intensive compliance and regulatory requirements. John was appointed by Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty to serve as co-chair of his workforce housing transition committee. He is a former Treasurer of the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development, a former director of Cornerstone, Inc. - a housing provider to people with disabilities - and a former member of the Enterprise Community Planning Board for DC. Dave Wilkinson is the Executive Director of City First Enterprises. Previously, he served as Executive Director of Common Cause NJ, an 8,000-member organization that successfully fostered local civic empowerment to pass laws in over 100 New Jersey cities and towns. Brian Rajan Nagendra is the Associate Vice President of Real Estate Finance at City First Enterprises and focuses on underwriting, structuring, and deal development for CFE's community development and real estate investments. Brian has a BA in Public Policy and Urban Studies from Brown University and an MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
