Capital Area Asset Builders

Capital Area Asset Builders empowers residents of the Greater DC area to take control of their finances, increase their savings, and build wealth for the future. They administer a matched savings program through Individual Saving Accounts (IDAs). Income-eligible residents who successfully reach savings goals then choose to invest in their first homes, post-secondary education, or starting or expanding small businesses.

Home Purchase Assistance Program

The Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP) aids lower-and moderate-income individuals and families in purchasing affordable housing in DC. Qualified HPAP applicants can receive up to $54,000 in financial assistance, with funds to be used for acquisition assistance and/or closing costs. HPAP can be used along with assistance through Homes by CFE.

DC Opens Doors

DC Opens Doors, managed by the DC Housing Finance Agency, offers several options for down-payment assistance and below-market-rate first trust mortgage lending. Programs are available for both first-time and repeat homebuyers.
